global warming vs. the lifestock sector.

A 2006 UN report found that 18% of global warming emissions come from raising cows, chickens, pigs, turkeys and livestock, which is 40% more than all of the cars, SUVs, airplanes, and other modes of fossil-based transportation in the world. For further comparison, every house, residential and office building in the world accounts for just 8 percent. The livestock sector is contributing to land alteration and degradation, changes in the atmosphere and climate, water availability, and biodiversity.
